How is a Life Path number calculated?
The Life Path number is the digit sum of the full birth date. It is the overall path of the life.
The number of the birth date
Life Path is calculated from the calendar date of birth. The digits of day, month, and year are added and reduced. This number is the broad path of the life: the kinds of work, lessons, and temperament that keep returning.
It is independent of the name. Two people with the same birth date share a Life Path; their Destiny numbers will differ if their names differ.
How to read it
Read Life Path together with Destiny. One is the date’s number; the other is the name’s. Maturity is their reduced sum and is the tone of later life. The personal year then shows how the current calendar year sits on that Life Path.
Common questions
- Do master numbers stay as 11, 22, or 33?
- In the Pythagorean setting used here, yes, when the reduction lands on 11, 22, or 33. The Chaldean letter chart does not apply to Life Path, because Life Path is taken from the date.
